Repairs are saw-cut clean, patched and compacted properly, and matched to blend with the surrounding surface as closely as possible.

When a Repair Is the Right Call

Potholes, failed edges, and isolated cracking over stable ground are repair work. Done properly that means saw-cutting to a clean edge, removing the loose material, addressing whatever failed underneath, and compacting the patch — not skimming material over the top of a hole and calling it done.

A repair like that holds. A surface skim over a soft spot reappears within a season.

When It Isn't

Alligator cracking across a wide area, settlement that keeps coming back, and movement over large sections point to a base problem. Patching each visible crack in that situation spends money without touching the cause. That's when resurfacing or full replacement is the better use of the budget, and we'll say so.

What a Patch Will Look Like

A structural patch should be neat and durable, but fresh asphalt won't match aged pavement on day one. The new material is darker and will stay visible for a while before weathering closer to the surrounding surface. That's normal, and worth knowing before the crew leaves.
